A Forgotten Realms Setting based fiction.

“House Starym sends their regards, Ravenshadow,” the deep bronze skinned, flame-haired elven lady thrust the blade along the top of her duskwood longbow toward Arilisha.

Dusk descended in the horizon, to cloak the skies following in night’s stars and darkness, the thick trees and canopies surrounding that made the Moonwood seeming deeper from it all. The second daughter to her clan name stepped back in a blur of her displacement enchantment and drew out her curved elven lightblade in a successful parry. As she did this, Arilisha raised her hand and a flare of dusky violet magic missiles ascended from her palm and toward the camouflage leather-clad assassin.

Update: Climbing From A Descent As An Empire Falls (Part I)

I just recently returned from Gary Con, a Roleplaying Game Convention named after Gary Gygax. First and foremost, I want to say that I love Dungeons & Dragons with all of my heart, but anyone who had read some of my past blog posts know I recognize the legacy as not problem free. In kind, Gygax is someone who I am first to say far from problem-free, yet my attendance meant I supported many gamers, including wholesome authors and people of marginalized backgrounds. This experience became a life changing event for me in more ways than I can even do justice with in one or more blog posts. So I will start my summarizing of events I had gone through this past two to three years with this latest happening.

Update September 06, 2022: When Authors Have Limited/No Rights… (Part II)

The publisher had an editor follow up with my concerns that I discussed in my previous post, on When Authors Have Limited/No Rights. Fortunately, it has been a pleasant discussion and they were curious about the portions I had an issue with and I pointed out which ones, and explained my issue. They did mention that I gave up my rights to my work in the contract, which is definitely the case, but I also pointed out an email where they said they were going to let me take a look at the work before a submission. So with this, I was under the impression I would have a final look.
