Allyship in the Gaming Community: A Work in Progress (Part I)

I had an experience that frustrated me enough to almost ragequit playing at a gaming server I spent fourteen years inside, with a few hiatuses in between. People I have known for fourteen years, people I had confided in a lot about some of the struggles these past few years with the amplified visibility of racism that has been in this country for years but now more are more emboldened to act on, gave an interaction to me that left me feeling hurt. It was not on purpose, and I am not calling them terrible people or avowed racists. I want that clear for anyone who might know who I speak about.

Change in Nom De Plume: “Arya H. Kalarathri” to “Arya H. Mariam”

It has been a while since I have posted. To that end, I can only apologize. Things have been tumultuous since the beginning of the summer. For one, I am becoming more socially involved outside of work, whether it be activism, trying to help my family out, or making poetry. There was an awesome poetry boot camp I was part of, where I was told I made some works I needed to keep near for possible publication. Speaking of which: I have a new nom de plume for now.

Deliberations: Long-Term Effects of Colonialism Through Time

I received some feedback on my blog post, Deliberations: More Courageous Conversations About Cultural Appropriation, and How to Handle Criticisms. Over all, it was positive. However, there were some points of criticism that I received, and want to take a moment to acknowledge and address.
